The Mountain West women’s basketball tournament starts on Sunday, May 26, in Las Vegas with three first-round games. Nevada women’s basketball, currently ranked No. 4 in the conference, will receive a first-round bye and play in the quarterfinals on Thursday, May 30.
Nevada women’s basketball had a successful regular season, securing the No. 4 spot in the Mountain West Conference standings with an 18-10 record (12-6 in conference). Their last game before the tournament was a dominating 82-65 victory over San Jose State on Tuesday, May 22. Irish-born freshman Niamh Dillon has been one of the team’s standout players this season, earning a starting role and ranking among the Mountain West’s best 3-point shooters.
