Born on June 23, 2000, in Memphis, Tennessee, Dosunmu grew up in a family of athletes, with his father, Adebayo Dosunmu, being a former Nigerian professional basketball player. Ayo Dosunmu attended Morgan Park High School in Chicago, Illinois, where he played basketball and was named to the All-State team.

College Career

Dosunmu played college basketball for the University of Louisiana at Lafayette (2018-2020) and the University of Illinois (2020-2021). During his time at Louisiana, he was named the Sun Belt Freshman of the Year and was a First Team All-Sun Belt selection. In his sophomore season, Dosunmu transferred to Illinois, where he continued to impress, earning Second Team All-Big Ten honors and being named to the All-Defensive Team.

NBA Draft and Career

Ayo Dosunmu was selected 38th overall in the 2021 NBA Draft by the Oklahoma City Thunder, but was traded to the Chicago Bulls on draft night. He made his NBA debut on October 20, 2021, against the Cleveland Cavaliers. Dosunmu has quickly established himself as a valuable player for the Bulls, contributing in multiple areas, including scoring, playmaking, and defense.
